When I look through the viewfinder I see a black dot on the screen, however the dot does not appear on any pictures, so on which part of the camera is this dot?
 
it's likely to be on the mirror, or above the mirror where the viewfinder optical mumbo jumbo starts.


just give it a light blow and it should be gone :)
 
Probably the mirror or the focus screen, a quick puff from a rocket blower should shift it
 
could be either on your focus screen or your mirror, inspect the mirror if you see get a blower and gently puff it over if not its on the focus screen you could try the blower on that to, dont puff it to vigorously
