Which mode do you shoot in most of your time and why?

I find Av Mode is usually what I use.

Av or Tv if I want a certain shutter speed....
 
Most of the time I'm in AV mode, if I want a narrow DoF I'll shoot at F2.8 otherwise normally F5.6 or F8 if the light is good enough. If I'm shooting motorsport then I'm in TV mode to get the right amount of motion blur. If the camera cant give me correct exposures then I'll go to manual mode.
 
SLR = Aperture or manual.
Aperture for DoF control, manual if I need to keep an eye on shutter speed or using flash.

GF1 = Aperture or shutter mostly, some manual if using flash.
For DoF control or keeping the shutter speed up in low light.

LX5 = Aperture, shutter or Programme mostly, manual if using flash.
Aperture or shutter for the usual reasons, Programme for forget the settings shooting.

I'm happiest in aperture or manual or at a pinch shutter modes as frankly I don't understand the other "creative" modes they have these days.
 
Most of the time Av mode, I find for the most part the camera seems to get the shutter speed correct when I shoot landscape, if in arkward lighting situations where the camera gets easily confused I use manual.
 
I shoot in too much changeable light and conditions to shoot in M when I'm outside so A is deffo the way for me, inside with lighting, ie studio conditions it's manual mode.

A or M on Digital, Autoor Spot Manual on the OMs (which is the same thing)
 
I am shooting more and more in Manual, but if I need to get a shot off quick either AV or TV.
 
Av probably 90% of the time but I tend to change to Shutter priority when I'm motor racing.
 
Most of the time manual but if I have to work in light that changes fast or with a child that keeps moving in and out of shade I will switch to Aperture Priority and will use exposure compensation if necessary.

Almost alkways P mode and very often shifted away from the originally suggested setting to get more/less DoF or a faster/slower shutter speed. I'll switch to Shutter priority when I want to keep the same shutter speed for several shots (eg when panning at a motorsport event) and have been knbown to dabble in Aperture priority for landscapes and even manual on occasion.
 
Manual all the time unless I'm doing something that needs to be quick. I recently did a college project with street photography which meant I was walking the street and very quickly pulling the camera up and shooting to capture the moment. No time to mess about, in those instances its Aperture
 
AV when I'm shooting in natural light, mainly manual when using flash unless it's fill flash when it's AV again.
 
Manual for me most of the time depending on what i am taking photo's of

Never even tried anything except M. I know what I want, the camera doesn't.
 
Av mode, with an eye on the shutter speed and rear dial set of exposure comp to adjust for the scene.

Manual on the 5dII for landscapes/outdoor/product stuff.
AV on the 7d for birding.
 
If I'm doing birds in the winter when the light has been poor I will use Av and open up the aperture to max. and check on the shutter speed.
If the shutter speed is too low I will up the ISO. If the ISO starts getting ridiculous I will go to the pub.
 
Hyper programme.

Want aV? Spin the front dial
tV? Spin the back
The camera to decide? Hit the green button

All without taking my eye from the viewfinder :)
 
I only use M as I don't trust my cameras opinion. Perhaps I need to upgrade:lol:

I also think Auto should be removed from DSLR's- in fact, remove them all except Manual- at least people would then be forced to learn and you'd not get as many people thinking they're a pro.

Ok, you probably would but it's good to be elitist now and again:D
 
Whatever suits my needs; Manual, aperture priority or shutter priority - the latter probably the least used.
 
Manual for most shots.

Otherwise if I am pushed for time, or the subject calls for it (changing light*), then if it moves Tv, if it doesn't Av.

* in rapidly changing light, such as small gigs with stage lighting, I'll always go back to manual. Automatic modes will do their absolute best to kill any creative mood you're deliberately trying to create with this type of situation.
