Thinking of getting a couple of lights for studio work and also do a few shoots at clients homes.

Anybody suggest some good brands or makes to price up.

Cheers

Bowens and Elinchrome.

A fare few like Lencarta. but to go for anything cheap you will regret it. Buy quality no matter how much use and you wont go wrong.

If it's for odd jobs here and there... then these 3 will last years and years.

We use Bowens and we shoot over 100 to a 1000 ports a day. In 10 years only replaced 2 flash tubes.

Like the JCB of the lighting world.

In the end it's down to you.

Elemental and Lastalite I have seen them last 5 minutes.

What are "best to get"? Probably Broncolor, Briese, Profoto...but they're big money.

I would suggest in this market place it's mostly down to budget, so what is yours?

Whilst I would always recommend the most expensive/quality you can afford if the likes of Bowens are are of your range (as they were for me) go for Lencarta, mine have been excellent VFM.
