I'm trying to learn the process of reverse engineering lighting setups (as described in strobists 101) and was wondering if I got this right...

my guess:

light source 1: rim lighting on the right hand side of her hair is caused by the sun (which is also causing the shaddow to the left of her)

light source 2: strobe being used with a diffuser/umbrella in roughly the same plane as the camera is? (i.e. it could even be on camera??)

what you reckon guys?

light source 1: one strobe at camera right? zoomed to 85mm? or maybe with a grid/snoot?

light source 2: almost no ambient light registering?

your guesses are probably correct, the bottom image most certainly has the flash just out of shot on the left where its blown out some of the detailing in the brick.
