After some lens recommendations if possible. Would like a macro lens and possibly one other, at the moment I am using

Nikon D200
80-200mm F2.8
18-200mm VR
70-300mm f3.5-5 ( never use )

I would like a short angle lens and a macro lens as mentioned. I shoot alot of motorsport, but am looking at doing a fair bit of still life, landscapes ect.
Havnt got a massive budget so most of the Nikon lenses would be out of my price range, I would think anyway, but would be interested to know if any of the equivelant makes, sigma, tokina, offer something like the quality im after.

Wide angle:
You could look at: -
- Tokina 12-24mm
- Sigma 10-20mm
Obvioulsy I am going to recommend the Tokina as I use one and really like it. I had a 10mm wide lens and found that I stopped using the 10mm end as it was too wide for most landscape use (IMO).

Macro, do you definitly know you want to do macro? If not consider some of the raynox close up filters - they are remarkably good to get you started.

Sigma AF 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC Macro & Wide Angle Zoom Lens. But the Sigma 10-20 is a must..
I picked one of these up a few weeks ago, after the Nikon 16-85 VR went out of my price range..

I like the look of the 17-70, do you have one? If you have, could you put up some images that you have taken with it. Cheers

Not so sure I want to macro, would just like to do some nice close up shots of flowers, still life and the likes. How do the raynox filters work?

Great lens, still got mine and only stopped using it when I bought a 17-55. Plenty of examples on my flickr link in my sig - the 17-70 images are from 1Mar and earlier.

Some nice shots there, like the strawberry in the glass. Fancy selling it?????;)

Ben as I've said previously if you see me on an event you're welcome to give my Tokina 12-24 a try! ;)

Just a few snaps i have taken thus far, however i still need to experiment more. All the 17-70 images are striaght from the camera apart from a resize & crop...

That last one is an absolute corker, great composition! I really do like HDR. The first one, A and B all look a little soft - could do with a spot of sharpening.

I am going to flog my 17-70 at some point (a mate has got first refusal on it though) and it'll go in the classified here but I've just realized you're all Nikon users and I'm Canon!

Some nice shots, im more into the close up stuff you took though. I will have to keep my eye out for a 17-70 then. Cheers for the offer Jim, I may well take you up on it if we meet at an event soon.
