What is the difference between ITPC and Keywords in CS3 Bridge?

I guess that the ITPC is more resistant? Only Bridge knows about the keywords?

IPTC data is embedded in the file and is transported with it.It's an internationally recognised standard. Keywords tend to be application based and not transported with the file. You can transport them by writing them to "sidecar" files if the app allows, I think bridge does as does Lightroom. Problem is there is no standard for these files, so you may find that another copy of Bridge will read them but not another application.
