Anyone help me to turn off this awful feature in lightroom where it decides to apply its own dreadful settings to images once imported ?

I thought it might be the 'auto' levels but it's not as pressing auto afterwards remove the overexposed mess. Any ideas what's causing it ?

Left is jpg sooc, right is after lightroom has ruined it on import - really annoying as can't see which images are over exposed in the library view now as they all are

tia,

Try pressing the RESET button?

Probably won't work - you would have to do it for every shot.

I suspect you are applying a develop setting when you are importing your image files into Lightroom.

On the right hand side of the import window there is a panel called "Apply During Import". Have you got anything selected there?

I’m not at Mac at moment but the preferences import setting can be altered to remove the default settings to zero if I remember correctly
