Previously with raw shots taken with the 400D I could either edit them with the canon software or in CS3. After doing my thing in whichever programme I used I could then save them as JPEG`s. I have now updated to the 50D and the relevant Canon software. When I edit the raw file in the canon software now it then opens up DPP, which is fine. But if I go to save that file either in DPP, or send it to CS3 for a bit more tinkering :D and then save it ,neither will give me the option to save it as a JPEG. Any ideas please? Am I supposed to be saving them as Tiff files and forget all about JPEGS?

I too have had the same problem. Only I have found even with a JPEG file it converts to TIFF in CS4 and then I have yet to find out how I can edit and re-save as a JEPG.

Sorry I cannot help but I will look forward to hearing from some of the more experienced people here :D
 
I open the image in Camera raw then save it from there as a jpeg. Hope this helps:)
 
Cheers guys just downloaded raw plugin and all seems back to normal :D
 
I'd be guessing maybe it's in 16 bit?, check to see, in photoshop it's image/mode 8 bit, I don't use DPP so can't help there. Wayne
