Yes
I've seen this mentioned now and again and wondered why people use it. It is cheap enough but does it add anything that I can't get from PE10, CS4 & maybe one day LR4.

Just downloaded the demo version and not sure what to make of it. Anyone singing its praises enough for me to think it worth buying - only about a tenner - I think

Not heard of it - do you have PE10 and CS4 already? I would think you could get almost everything you want from CS4

True - but there may a one button touch to sort the whole of the PP out. Would help when I put an edit in the PP Game  But it would take the fun away

I don't use it which is why I didn't reply straight away. So far it's only available for iOS but an Android version is promised and hopefully will be on my Nexus 7 tablet within hours of the first release.

My impression of why people like it is that it uses Nik Software's idea of control points. If you want to change an area within an image, e.g. lighten a face, add vibrance to a tree, add contrast to a sky, and so on, you drop down a control point, pinch to define the extent of the area, then drag a slider to get the effect you want. Sort of like Lightroom's Adjustment Brush, but much more like Capture NX.

It's much, much cheaper than Lightroom or Capture NX, but then it has hardly any features compared to those two programs. You can see it in action briefly in the video at http://www.snapseed.com/. Just below the video there's a Demo link where you can download a trial for Mac or Windows.

I downloaded the demo version myself to give it a quick once-over. The first photo below was processed quickly in Lightroom. The second one was done in Snapseed. With Snapseed it's easier to get dramatic, almost in-your-face, results.

Thanks for helping Garry.

I will have to take a look at the control point feature.

I must admit your second link, done in Snapseed, does it for me

It should be compared to iPhoto on the iPad

Personally I love Nik software and have their entire bundle as Aperture/LR plug- ins. Highly recommended indeed, especially Siver effex pro2

I hate control points. I find them counter-intuitive. Brush tool wins every time, especially when you use a tablet.

Yes after trying it I think you're right
