What has been done to this shot?

I just stumbled upon this whilst browsing the daily deviations on DeviantART, and it really impressed me. I'm curious as to what editing has been done to this shot, from what you can tell?

I'm not sure about the banding, it might be rain butI suspect it's taken through a window so maybe rain or reflections on the glass.
Why not ask her.

Banding - reflections of a curtain on the window (I assume you mean the vertical banding on the left hand side). I was thinking rain too...

If it didn't look like this out of camera then this is the process probably used.

1) Solid layer of colour or white to blue / balck gradient put on a separate layer, opacity adjusted. Layer mask added, removed key areas of the solid layer / gradient using the mask.

2) Added a blue tone.

3) Addded the banding using brushes - adjusted to fit in with the picture.

4) Noise added.

5) Adjusted the blacks to give a more washed out effect.

Why not ask the artist, they're often very approachable.

Looks like curtains reflected in a glass window it was taken through, and something in the forground out of focus, could be inside or outside the room, plant? tree? and maybe a bit of reflection of the photographer or something else in the room?

Then again, maybe thats what they want me to think
