Hi

I bought a used Tamron 90mm Macro lens and must admit i am not finding it easy in use

Could folk please tell me what lighting solutions you are using i really don't wish to commit heavy money because at the moment as mentioned i am useless :D

I have a Canon EX600 and a flash cord about 18 inch long now.

Final point please if you use flash are you shooting at 1/60th or 1/250th

Many thanks

Allan

Most of the time (99% +} I use natural light but I do have a Marumi Ring Flash for when there's almost no natural. To reduce the effect of natural/ambient light when flashing or using LED illuminators, I go as fast as I can (max synch speed).

Like Nod I use natural light most of the time, and a Marumi ring flash for other times. I do the opposite, however, and go for a slower shutter speed (although I am normally in Av) to get some ambient light in.

Thank you

I can see this is not a simple one size fits all lol

Sue, I qualified my reducing the effect of ambient/natural light comment with "when flashing". Of course, when using natural light as the only light source, I use whatever SS is necessary. I find that mixing light sources can sometimes introduce colour casts to parts of the image - not as easy to deal with as an all over cast!
