Wikipedia says 828 film and adds:-

Those wishing to photograph with an 828-format camera have a few options. As of 2005, 828 film is available for purchase on the Internet; this film is probably respooled from bulk unperforated 35mm film. Another option is to use standard 135 film, with sprocket holes, and respool it with used 828 backing paper onto old spools. The effective image size will be reduced with this method as the perforations will intrude on the image area. Finally, as with other obsolete film types, 120 film can be cut (with backing paper) and respooled onto 828 spools.

You might struggle to get 828 now I think.

That's very helpful, thanks Gramps!
The camera belongs to a friend, used to be her father's and she'd like to use it but guess maybe not.
Appreciate your help!

According to my search engine, 828 was discontinued in 1985. My first ever camera used this size.

Taking a DIY approach, it seems that the backing paper and spools are the hard part. I have no idea if anyone 3D prints spools, or if it's even possible. If you have a darkroom, you could cut down 120 film. I say darkroom rather than changing bag as you'd really need a bench I think.

And if you don't develop your own, make sure to get spools and paper returned!

Thank you too. I'll pass both replies on to her and again, appreciate you taking the time to reply.

Your reply appeared as I was typing. As a one off, you might search Ebay for 828 film and try it for the experience.
