this is a serious question here, a daft one, but a serious one, .... these "English-ism's" are doing my head in. What the heck does it mean if somebody says that one 'looks h*rney?" (in terms of appearance, not errmmm the other possibility!) I mean honestly, I wasn't aware that that word was a descriptive one for describing one's appearance!?!!! fill me in please as it seems to be a popular one, and I am really confused lol.:thinking: :bonk:

edit- okay, seriously feel so 'daft' for asking this, lol. but maybe now will find out!

Well I am not too sure either but at a guess I would say "smart" "dressed to kill" maybe
but probabley the two are interchangable ie looks sexy dressed like that.
Who really knows  The youth of today seem to make up their own definitions to words

lol oh dear, and this was someone of 50+ who said that!

Its a *******isation of a normal term I would suspect.

It's a very shortened way of saying 'By jolly jove, jeeves, that lady over there is rather pretty, and when I look at her, I get rather frisky and wouldn't mind a spot of rooty tooty what what'

God knows, horny to me means someone is gagging for it.

And by gagging for it, I mean they would like to engage in activities of a sexual nature.

Why cant people just say that? :D

lol now THAT's an explanation you two :) thanks! i do hope it's the right one though lol, as if i end up listing that as it's definition in my head, wouldn't want to get that the wrong way around! lol

'whato by golly id rather love to engage in all manner of activities of a sexual nature with her'

why use so many words when 'id tap that' would suffice....

or a popular in london....
"smash the granny out of her"

haha... (i don't get it either...)

"Ding Dong" comes to mind (but I can't do a Leslie Phillips voice :D)

Steve

To be linked with the comment "Brace yourself Pet, I'm coming in dry....."

Looking horny (horney) can also mean almost the opposite of whats being described :p

It's more of a description of someone who looks rugged, angry, annoyed, rough that sort of thing.

ahh thank you dod, now you see that's further adding to my vocabulary for this strange term..... the rest, erm' well I wouldn't dare let them go past my lips, and if anybody were to come out with that around me they'd get a slap in the face! lol

Kick her back doors in

:shake: at this thread degenerating fast :D
I was under the impression that means entering by the back door.
i.e potting the brown as opposed to the pink.
The only definition of horny with regards to a person I'm aware of would refer to sex. A person can look or feel horny.
There may well be regional variations of definitions though.

For some reason the expression "slinging a sausage up a close" popped into my head and now the image won't leave :shake:

Well you did ask :) Another expression I suppose could be " Fit " Ie she is "fit" or He is "fit". Thats about as far as I am going here :). and this from an aged 59yr old before you say .

Dont worry its a learning curve :) and what you doing up at this time? :)

lol oh dear, and this was someone of 50+ who said that!

..and whats so odd about us 50 years olds looking or feeling horny ??
Or, in my case, being told we are by many many younger folk - happens almost every day to me....................................................

hehe still up as well, i have a very 'different' sleep pattern to most :)

lol no..... it was somebody of 50+ who said that somebody else looked horny!!
reason i noted this was because someone else in the thread said something along the lines of how the young folk change meanings of things! lol
