Hi,

I am a newbie to studio lighting and at this stage getting to grips with the milenia of reviews, videos and stuff and wanted check what the term:

"Fixed Flash" meant when referring to a Studio Flash such as the Elinchrom FX 400.

I saw it here about 3:18s in

Thanks, Simon.

As it says in the video, one has a variable voltage and a user changeable flash tube, the other doesn't.

User changeable flash tubes are useful only if you need to replace them - which is very rare - but most manufacturers have that feature as standard. Variable voltage is neccessary if you travel to countries with different voltages, otherwise not.
