what did they use for those school photos?

back in the day they would have a camera (probably today too!) that span round on its axis to get a panorama shot of the whole school. Anyone know the makes/models?
 
Thanks but only really interested in the old film cameras that they would of used.
 
That's what a couple of us did when in the 5th form. When the photo got put up at school, we were stood ever so correctly at one end of the photo and laughing and falling about at the other end.

Only cost us a Saturday morning detention. Well worth the notoriety!

They threatened us with a week's suspension if we tried it :(
 
Allegedly one kid's parents were charged for a reshoot when he did that. Unfortunately the only school photographer I knew who was shooting schools in the '60s and '70s died recently so I can't ask him exactly what he used to use.
 
Do a google for cirkut camera and you will find perhaps the most popular camera used in schools. Both before and since ww2.
