What did Santa bring you?

Nothing photo related so far.

Some spiced rum, a painterly style pin-up girls calendar, Brian Johnson autobiography, titanium camping mug and wind guard and a few other bits and pieces.

Not got around to seeing anyone yet though so just been me and the other half so far. Usual busy few days. Seeing my boy later on when he's finished lunch with his mum. My daughter I'm seeing tomorrow when she finishes work.

It's like a 3 day long Christmas this year :)

OK, not *exactly* GAS, but I ended up being 'given' a Harley Benton Aeolus semi-hollow guitar for Christmas - I ordered it and then the family contribute towards the cost. It's not exactly GAS because I'm doing more paying gigs now, and it didn't seem right to be playing a £35-off-ebay First Act.

The Aeolus is a lovely guitar for those who care about such things, and in conventional set-up form as it is now, it has a very precise feel and tone to it. Once I've changed it around for slide (tall nut, heavy strings, raised action) it will be a much more energetic instrument to play, but right now it just needs a feather-light touch. It's so nice that I'm seriously debating converting one of my other instruments for slide and keeping this 'as is'.

I must have tried 100 pairs of motorcycle gloves trying to find the perfect pair! I don’t think they exist?

Socks to the point of almost a new draw full

But also a coffee table book .....the WPOTY Portfolio 32 i.e. the 2022 book.

A bread maker machine and a Solarcan are top of my list of things I got.

Make a space in your "dumping" cupboard for the breadmaker. I will sit fine beside the George Foreman grill, toasted sandwich maker, air frier and all the other 5 minute wonders.

On a more positive note this has been a better than usual Christmas. It fell on a Sunday which means that two dead days can be passed simultaneously.

I have not 'biked' for decades but back in the 70's I used ex WD silk parachutist gloves under my leather gauntlets that was quite effective in both wet & cold weather. But if a further layer was needed (rarely) I had my ice & snow climbing overmitts.

But your mentioning the search for perfect gloves just makes me think of the holy grail of the perfect camera bag ;)

I used to wear a pair of latex gloves underneath my leather gloves. And wrist warmers.

Photo related a ticket for 2 for the Wildlife PTY exhibition at the Natural History Museum.

+ a book "The Street Photographer's Manual" by David Gibson.

Most successful family game was Yahtzee - our 5 year old GD can concentrate long enough to play this.

I‘ve found the solution to be three different pairs of gloves that cover you for all conditions. You just choose accordingly.

Mostly smelly stuff! [after shave, shower gel/shave sets] Also a mug with 'World's greatest FARTER' :ROFLMAO: Are my family trying to hint something

Everything I want and need - a box of fudge!

Santa has just given me my first gift - a £50 voucher to be spent with my favourite online butcher :)

One of the things l received was a Hanayama puzzle, level 6, that is already driving me up the wall.

I bought a Hanayama for a secret Santa gift a couple of years ago. After "testing" it briefly I was sad I had to give it away :D

I'm always surprised there aren't more of them available second hand on eBay.

As for me, after playing with software off and on for years, I got a kids' hardware computer kit. Absolutely love - I may end up learning C after all.
