I have a Nikon d40,the memory card i have is a lexar premium s 2 gb 60x speed sd card , I am going to buy another card ,what would you
recomend , i mainly shoot bike racing, any advice would be much
apreciated.

When it comes to cards, it's more a case of what not to do:

1. Don't buy cheap non-branded or own-brand cards

2. Don't buy off eBay (lots of fakes around)

Any decent card - Sandisk, Lexar etc. - will just work with no problems. They also tend to come with recovery software in case you accidentally delete an image. The more expensive cards have higher write speeds (in theory anyway).

Not much more to discuss really.

Hello KSC and welcome here if I haven't wished you welcome yet...I haven't done so in a while:bonk::lol:

My opinion is big cards for playing and practical purposes.

For paying jobs (weddings etc) I limit myself to 1Gb cards as I have lost two cards already and I am quite superstitious...If I lost 3/4+ of your wedding to my nice new 16Gb that just went south, would you be happy?

HTH:thumbs:

Have to agree with this! Extreme III Sandisk cards (and EXTREME IV possibly) have the rescuepro discs, not ULTRA II

You will not find anything but Sandisk cards in my cameras

Me too (well, except for the Sony Pro Duo that lives in the camera). Just ordered 3 Sandisk Extreme III 4gb Compact Flash cards from Play.com - £17.99 each.
