This picture was taken with a canon powershot g6 or something like that on an automatic setting since it was a bit of a spur of the moment rushed photo, I'd be really grateful if anyone could point me in the right direction of what I should be doing to it :/ it's really messed up so I've no idea where to begin with it.

Only thing is to reshoot as its too out of focus :(

Oh :( that is not what I wanted to hear, i'm so sad I didn't have my 400D on me, I think it would have turned out better with my 400D

I know but I believe its the only thing. If the focus was slightly off, then some sharpening could have fixed it, but I think its too far for that.

I hope for you someone else has an idea that could save it

I'm afraid I'd have to agree with Dave, the camera focussed behind the subjects and now amount of sharpening is going to help out.

However, as a 6x4 print you may just get away with it, but viewed large on screen I don't think there's a rescue to be had.

Oh well, maybe CS6 will have a feature to put change the focus with a click of a button, somehow that wouldn't surprise me. :(

How does this version grab you – a little less sharpening and I’ve removed some of the other distractions and the red eye.

No offence to Chris, but no its not a nice job, it still looks terrible.

No offence taken but it's sure as hell better than the origional.

Maybe our level of whats acceptable is just a little lower :p

Are you going to have a go ?

:D

A bad photo like this can't be rescued to an acceptable level.

The OP wanted help to save a picture that obviously means something to them and isn't worried about it looking like a staged portrait or work of art!

Chris has given them something that is much better than the original and is without a doubt printable.
Believe it or not, sometimes its just the contents of a picture that matters.

You could take it again and put me in the picture, that would improve it.:lol::lol:

Thanks so much for the edits guys :) really thankful :D

And yes Bobkent, the photo means a lot to me :) It's a photo of me and Karen Elson, a extremely famous model and wonderful musician

So, it's not really like I can take it again :( Just unlucky I didn't have my reliable 400D, and it was a dark dingy pub, couldn't really be there messing around for 3 minutes to set the iso speed and settings to be good enough for a dark pub.
