I would suggest getting the pro z series as you will eventually want LEE filters which are bigger and the Z series is compatible whereas the P series are not. That way you won't be wasting £50 which is what I've done!

I second Dan's recommendation. If you're serious about using ND grad filters you will eventually graduate (sorry!) from Cokin to Lee (or Hitech), so it just makes sense to get the Pro Z holder from the start.

Yup that should be ok. All you'll need after that is a 10 stop filter (LEE big stopper) and you'll be all set!

Just a heads up on Cokin, was looking to get the P series and just phoned my local Jessops to check stock and was told they had gone into administration, so although getting filters in the future prob wouldn't be much of a problem getting adaptor rings may be.
Hence I'm on here to see about a different system.

Hi,

I found the Lee Foundation kit, plus adapter rings for the size lenses you'd be using + Hitech filters worked well for me. The Hitech 10 stopper was a cracking filter.

I found Lee filter holder better quality than any other, but the Hitech filters the best bang for buck.

Ta,
Shane :-)

Looks like that was some time ago (Nov 2010), and they've since been bought by Kenko-Tokina:

No more recent news of administration for Cokin that I could find, so I wouldn't be too worried about stock.
