Hi Folks,

I'm new to this forum and this is my first post. I am a keen event and portrait photography working mainly in studio.

I am looking at purchasing new muslin backdrops for use at events. I was looking at other event sites in the UK and saw an event that was covered by another photographer. He was using the backdrop listed below.

I have looked everywhere for it online but just cant find anything that looks like it. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

BIG MAC :)

It looks like a tie dyed backdrop, very easy to DIY if you have a spare hour! There are countless websites that can give you step by step instructions :)

Many thanks everyone for your input!

I've had a look at the product on viewfinder photography but its not a match unfortunately :( I will try tie dying a sheet and see what the results are. Somebody also suggested using spray paint and matching the patterns. Might try that as well.

Many thanks so far and if anyone has any other suggestions let us know.

Cheers

Just a heads up. Dyed backdrops will fade, they will also rub off on you, the client, and your props. Nothing better than good ol paint. Hope this is helpful to some.

That looks very much like the Muslin version of something between Denny Old Master OM1500 Neoclassical and OM9528 Midnight Splash - see HERE Scroll down to the 7x8 section where the stock images of the two designs are together

Available in the UK through Lux S HERE

Tie dying a sheet will make getting a decent vignette with an oval shape rather difficult - paint is the way to go for this style
