Accy stanley have the poorest floodlights in the league.. add to that constant drizzle and mist.... my worst set of pics in a long time and for 3 diff newspapers.. one i have never worked for before and will think i am making excuses telling them mist rain and poor floodlights.. i only just managed 12 half decent poics they wanted..

Add to that i only sorta got one stanley goal (won 3-1) and a slight cele with all the rest shot from and ran to the misty opposit side of pitch..

all in all a bad nights work... but 3 commisions. so :)

We all get those nights sometimes - (and your floodlights are still better than Cheshire Jets at Northgame ;-) ) players running the wrong way to celebrate... referee getting in the way... etc.
But - you did get few shots, so that's something.
And if the papers had reporters at the game - I am sure they can understand how tough it is to snap pics in those conditions...
Of course as always - shame you can't post samples of the pics to let us see what you were 'fighting' with.

You should come to Hebburn Town in the Northern League. When the away fans are singing - 'are you switching...the lights on, are you switching the lights on' you know its dark.

No seriously I have done worse floodlights.. I ahve done a game with one floodlight off so a quarter of the pitch in darkenss.. I ahve done the worse of the worse.. But if you add rain its worse.. but whats fairly rare is if you add mist.. thats very hard to shoot at :(

Yeah, we've got mist today again, waiting to hear from the sports ed if he wants anything from one match tonight, could be interesting.

Hi Tony. My club's match last nite was misty and goal-less. I was wondering why I bothered ... Shame they butchered your image, but your name isn't next to it and if you got paid, c'est la vie.

i know that feeling did one not long back rain bad lighting virtually dumped most images

I know the feeling with poor floodlights and think thats bad enough, can't begin to imagine how fog and rain adds to the already poor conditions

Tony

Match at South Shields last night, Northern Football Alliance so lower than Northern League. This was in the second half and the mist had improved quite a bit, probably because there was a cold wind blowing in off the sea. Anyway 1-1 draw in the end, missed the goal, defenders in the way, got the cele, should be in the paper tonight.

Actually thought the floodlit mist made a nice backdrop to a few shots that I took. It also played hell with the AF of course

yup i thought the mist made a good backdrop to the pics i could get near enough to me.. unfortunatly all the interesting stuff happened in the misty bits:(

Had something slightly similar at the Blyth v Gateshead a few weeks back. Difference is, it isn't mist, but instead a smokebomb!

and the Blyth player has had his leg stuck back on with black tape :D

I think in the whole 90 minutes thats the only effort he put in (I was a watching spectator)

That's a great crop :bang::bonk: How did they manage that..
It's never nice to see a pic you've sent to papers being cropped to make it look like that...

thing is its uncropped on the next page when you hit next

anyway got a tearsheet off them yesterday and its cropped perfectly in the paper.. plus they used three... i have plenty towards my prem licence for next season but most are with one paper.. i want to replace a few from other papers so 3 in there is perfect

just a shame it chose to be rain and mist the first time i work for them :(

loks like it may be time to invest in some lower aperture. how do you guys go abouts getting a press pass for these games then? very interested
