If there was a slight clue I might click the link :wideyed:

Ruth click "Simple as" in the OP's post.

that's why he was sacked - because he is DUMB.

The irony! Simple....eh?!

As per title of the thread, what an utter kn..................

Funny how the police are SO UNDER STRESSED that they now have to search social media for criminals to pursue............The way POLICE in this country operate is beyond my understanding.

Friend hit by a young woman going through red lights with badly misted up windows POLICE SEE IT happen and tell my mate its knock for knock.....well she was a pretty girl, did I mention that....POLICE said not interested

Eh? Theyve asked people for more information regarding an alleged accident. If that's not policing I don't know what is.

O I see....

I am not going to list the times the police have done nowt after an incident has happened that is not on their list of crimes that need them to investigate - but some bloke says on social media he did something and they are all over it......?

Maybe because its all public and all?

Hmmm food for thought.
I'll get my lad to post on twitter that his chained up push bike was nicked around Christmas
from outside work, (Usual URN number issued for the insurance)
and just the other day his mates 125cc again secured, was removed from almost the same spot.
(URN number issued for the insurance) ;)

I thought the chap's final line was very astute:

"He added that the name “Ray Pew” referred to the “pew pew pew” sound made by lasers."

I wondered if he's ever considered that in space nobody can hear your laser scream, "pew pew pew"...

Indeed seems better than calling plod direct......

Surely its just hearsay anyhow. Can't believe he got sacked because he told a joke. Suppose it could be worse he could have been gunned down in cold blood for printing a joke.

I think you'll find he got sacked before he tried wriggling out of it by saying it was a joke...Serves the **** right, Besides i can't imagine running a cyclist over with a car a joke !!

I thought it was a tad harsh, TBH, but I have no sympathy whatsoever for the guy,
posting stuff like that on social media is "asking for it"
I hope that it was a joke, albeit a sick one, though and no cyclists were harmed.

Oh Bill, read the article!
Someone claims they have failed to stop after an accident. Quick check of reports was made by police, obviously nothing there, so they simply ask the question, if anyone has been and not reported it and asked for anyone who witnessed it. Hardly being 'all over it'. The outrage by proxy is being overdone.

As for your other point, seems all hearsay to me.

He like most people have something in their contract about behaviour and the reputation of their employer.

Given that he said he was late for work and how the internet pitchfork mobs like to pressure employers of morons like this (look at the woman who hit and ran the cyclist and tweeted about it), it could be said he bought the company into disrepute and became gross misconduct.

I thought the chap's final line was very astute:

"He added that the name “Ray Pew” referred to the “pew pew pew” sound made by lasers."

I wondered if he's ever considered that in space nobody can hear your laser scream, "pew pew pew"...

It also sounds like "rape you". Wonder if the employer frowned on that too.

What do you call a thousand lawyers at the bottom of the ocean.

A good start.

Do you really think that, That is suggesting drowning a thousand lawyers.

The guy was just being an ass. If he had hit a cyclist they would have come forward by now.

Knowing how militant some bristol cyclists are, I'm surprised no one has yet.

If you said you had just accidentally drowned a lawyer, then that paints a different scenario to asking what do you call a thousand lawyers at the bottom of the ocean?
If he had hit a cyclist and they were seriously injured, then they wouldn't be able to "come forward".
It the end of the day, he thought he was being funny, but no one else did.

But the guy has now lost his job. For posting a few words on a twitter. A platform that lends itself to people posting crap all day long.

Yeah he shouldn't have posted it. But what harm did it do.

I'm sure Anjem Choudray has posted a damn site worse this week

If he did hit and run, he's a tw@ for doing so, especially by tweeting about it. If he didn't but tweeted that he did, he's a lying tw@ who deserved to lose his job - stockbrokers should be trustworthy not liars.
