Yes
Does anyone still use one of these lightmeters considering the capabilities of in camera exposure metering ?

I am going to do a comparison set of shots............... when I can remember where I put the meter. :bang:

You'll be surprised how accurate it is. I have an old Sekonic meter I use now and again and it's never far away from the camera meter. :)

Never use an independant meter if I'm shooting digital. If you have time to meter then taking your best guess and adjusting from the histogram is quicker and more acurate.

Assuming your histogram is acurate of course. Most EOS bodies display what you'd get from the current JPEG settings, even when you're shooting RAW. Never understood that.:cuckoo:

I can't even get my head around the use of the histogram :)

I found the same with my SLR's will be interseting to match it against a DSLR :)

I think we all feel like that when we first meet them but they are the simplist things and the most useful part of digi snapping.

If you can make sense of a light meter, then you're probably already over qualified for histograms. ;)

Really ?
can you convince me as I am fully able to use my weston master 5 and have read the 30d manual but still can't understand it.
ok ok ok whats it for :)

When I was earning a living doing large format B&W I never used anything else.

With the zone system markings, the invercone and the fact that its spectral response was just about identical to that of BW sheet film I didn't see any point in spending more money on a more modern design.

I don't have any it longer, when I gave up photography I sold my Weston (complete with box, handbook, invercone, case ) my M3 and lenses to a japanese collector who paid a VERY large amount of cash for it all.

Wish I still it had it, it would be fun to compare it with the built in meters on digital cameras.
