Decided to go for a ride through the woods today with Babytiger, wearing some shorts ..... bad idea the nettles are no longer at stinging height they have grown to KILLER height:gag:

and also.......the bloody SPDs dont half smart on your shin when you get it wrong

I have so many funny memories of my first time out in spuds, and then some of my riding buddies making the switch provided almost endless entertainment

Oh nearly forgot........camera bag was higher than my head and got caught on a branch ....nearly hung me sen :lol::lol:

LOL at SPDs' first time out, seen it a few time with newbies on them falling ouver at traffic lights because they have forgotten they have feet bolted to the pedal.

Never get nettles on the road, but then you need to watch out for bloody potholes, skinny road tyres at 120psi tend to explode if you hit one.

Ahhhhhhh the joy of climbing a nasty slope, ready to spit your lungs out at the top and then being soooooo preoccupied on just breathing you forget to unclip, it's a comedy slow motion fall to the side :D

Honestly, you whimp.
The real Dangermouse would've just go on with it :D

Any chance of a pic of you on the bike :D

It's more joy to watch it happen to someone else though:lol::lol::lol:

I've never fallen off with SPD's! might have helped that I had toe clips for a month or so before changing over (I did do the sideways topple with them!)

It's more the sideways topple than a full on crash - you either forget to unclip, or simply don't do it in time when you stop. It's one of those slow motion moments when it happens :D

Its that moment when you are still clipped in and you are just beginning to go and are thinking sh.........................

I landed in the middle of a large bramble bush last time - much to the amusement of my wife who sadly was watching!

Rog

The closest I have come to doing this was back in the 80s with 105 pedals, I did forget to twist my foot at some traffic lights but a barrier saved embarrasment
