Not exactly to school, but seeing that I can now handhold a camera better than I could a while ago; and seeing that I love macro shots and shallow depth of fields. I figured it was time that I got some good lenses in the f1.4 range, even if they have to be manual focus.

Not sure what to get, so I ended up getting the Voigtlander Nokton 58 f1.4 SL II; and what a lens this is turning out to be  (this is a manual focus lens, but it is chipped, so it will meter with my Nikon D300).

Love the feel of it, love how smooth the bezels are, love the colour renditions, and most of all the bokeh is just amazing.

Sorry if this seems like I am bragging, but I am so pleased that I am able to handhold something like this and get a good shot.

May be time to reconcider getting the 70-200VR, or a 200f2 VR :)

:)

I have been out, what a wonderful sunny day it is today, shooting. Just came home to drop off a few things and am going out again.

I am tempted to post some shots, I may well do so later tonight or tomorrow.

Have I said how wonderful a lens this is?
