Hi, this is such a fantastic idea, and there so much talent, its kinda intimidating! Gonna gove this ago. but as a working single mum of three, no doubt I will be late or miss one, but gonna try my hardest:)

Ok, so already off to a bad start, I went out today to take shots for this week, but have the memory retention of a goldfish, thought the theme was 'curves' :(

So, here is my first effort, a bronzed statue of a woman, curves and all! tried a different type of processing to make it a bit more interesting:shrug:

Well done to everyone else:thumbs:

Hi Wendy!

I deffo think this still fits - Curved figure.

Beautifully exposed and original framing make for a great start to your set.

Nice one  and I look forward to seeing more!

Pretty much agree with Matt, tight crop works well .

I like the framing of this shot and think it fits in the curved theme no problem

Hi Wendy,

I wouldn't worry about the theme - that definitely looks curved to me.
Lovely image and I like the PP. It's got an abstract painting type feel to it
I agree with Nattelie that it's an image you could get really lost in. The textures are absolutely beautiful.

Just one thing I can't help wondering about with the PP. It's a bronze statue, but the final image looks a little cold. I'd quite like to see what it would look like with just a bit of the warm, bronzey tone restored.

Hi Wendy. :)

That is one beautiful shot. The tight crop has made a work of art into an arty photo. Very clever, very classy.

I'm sure it would work well in bronze, but I actually love the mono treatment you've given it. I bet the original sculpter would love it too. :)

Thankyou so much everyone:love:

I'm so glad you all liked it, i wasn't sure if it would appeal to people, its a little abstract, but yay, people like it!!:D:D

Thanks again everyone, you've really inspired me to carry on:)

Wendy

Hi Wendy,

there is nothing to worry about, you have got this one spot on - beautiful

Very good Wendy, on theme, lots of curves, and the tight framing works well. I like it.

Hi Wendy,

I agree, this shot is all about the crop. It totally makes the image stand out more. Congrats and look forward to seeing your future interpretations.

Andy

Ok....Week two - Poetry

:)

:suspect:I admit, the poem is 'borrowed' from Maud Keary, after a search for tulips+poetry online!

Week 2 very well put together, I think everybodys borrowed a poem not too many poets on TP

I'm not sure what it is about #2, but something doesnt look right to me....

Was the background cut out in PP? The lines around the tulips look a little harsh to me, althought the picture itself is very well composed and lit and it is bang on theme...might just be me

Wow I love your week 2, the bright colours really stand out. Can't wait to see week 3

Thanks again everyone, really helping to keep me going:)

The original background was a creamy dirty white, and the colour of the flowers was lost a little. I agree that the pink tulip especially gives away the fact I put them on a black background:( Apart from that, the image is untouched.

Thanks again to everyone:love:

Vibrant entry to week no2 !!! Love it great shot!

Well done Wendy, lovely image, colourful and detailed that fits the poem well.

Lovely image and poem - reminds me of one of those inspiration posters. :)

Ahem! :D

Lovely image - I really like the arrangement of flowers and poem. The yellows look just a tad dark to me and I would like to see them a little lighter , but that may just be my monitor.

well done!

Two good openers. 2nd has lovely strong colours. I like them both, and Yes I borrowed a poem also(wouldn,t know where to start with one)...... or maybe The boy stood on the burning deck.......mmmm maybe not

Loving week 2...... Cracking shot and lighting. A nice simple poem for the shot.!

Those colours have some real impact against the black background - vibrant, simple and very effective and the composition with the one stem just coming in across the front is spot on

Only one question . . . Is it the processing or are they artificial tulips?
They don't look quite right to me and if I'm being picky I'd like to see more natural looking flowers.

It must be the processing:(, they were bought from asda only two hours before.

I like the colours and composition. The tulips do look fresh, but just the edge of the left yellow flower look a little artificial.

Nice saturation, and a very juicy orange, it looks mighty tempting. I considered a similar shot with a red cabbage, but don't have a lens that'll let me get that close. I think I'd like to see this larger, as it'd have real impact... you've been TANGOED!

Framing, texture and colour all make this a great shot. :)

I could just eat that the framing is great shows is off really well

Ooooh that works, you just about start salivating when you see it. Great colours and framing.
