Weird and wonderful skies

Hi,

I'm just starting to get serious about photography, and I'd really like to try recreating some of the types of photos I've seen on here.

One effect in particular I like is the weird purpley swirly sky. I have no idea how to go about getting that effect, I presume it's something you can do with CS2 which is what I have.

Any ideas?

Sounds like it was taken at sunrise/set with a slow exposure then a major level tweak, but withoutseeing it it's hard to say!

I moved this thread out of tutorials where it was posted.

My guess is the OP is asking how to do HDR processing. To me that makes skies weird...not wonderful though.
