Hey guys

A friend has asked me and some friends to do her wedding video. We have done promo video's before but not a wedding.

One of our biggest concerns is the lighting! The wedding is taking place in a hotel with around 300-400 guests and we expect the lighting will be dim.

Can anyone recommend what sort of LED lighting we should be using?

One option we are considering is a Ring light around the lens, are these any good?

Thank you!

If you haven't got a camera/s that will perform adequately in low light, you're going to struggle.

There are lights available cheaply on the bay (look for LED camcorder lights) but, the problem you will have is, if you need to have them too high, you will get people turning away or hands over faces, not ideal.

They are also only good for 3 or 4 meters, which is going to restrict you quite a lot.

You may be better off hiring a couple of good cameras rather than go down the artificial light route.

Good luck.

Thanks Pete, would a few 60D's not be suitable?
