Looking round t'internet at other togs websites, I see a lot of spot coloured images. Personally I'm not a fan. However, judging by the number of togs galleries that show spot colouring I have to assume the market is demanding it.

So to those that do it, do you do it because you want to or because the client asks for it? No-one's ever asked me for it, and I dropped it into conversation with some clients the other day to see what their reaction was and as soon as I mentioned it they shuddered and said "Nooooooooooo"

It depends, I'm certainly asked for it alot but don't do it because I want to and I don't mention it unless asked.

Spot-colouring, or colour-popping is photographys Marmite...

Some love it, some hate it, seems to be no mid ground. I'm in the "hate it" group, but I do mention it, and I do offer it. But in answer to your question, I've never been asked.

The guy at work who got married last year, his wife wanted a B&W with the coloured confetti selective coloured and I know of a couple of others that have wanted it but yes, it seems to be some hate it, some don't.

selective de-sat, welcome to last decade.

Might be "last-decade", but if the bride wants me to stand on my head and take a photo, as long as she's paying, I'm happy!

We offer it on our price list, along with sepia, and black and white, a fair percentage (maybe 50%?) do pick them, usually only one or two in a wedding album. Wayne

I often get asked to do this, and I hate it too, looks so tacky, although sometimes the confetti picked out can look kind of cool if its a busy action shot...

Many brides seem to see it as the sign of creativity though! I had a bride a while ago that looked through some beautiful shots I'd done in B/W and with quite an Orton feel to them, and she said nothing, but as soon as she picked up a magazine that I gave her and asked her to show me the type of stuff she liked, she spotted a really rubbish one where someone's hat were picked out in colour, she loved it! LOL I have had quite a few brides that ask for it.
