It was my sisters wedding yesterday and she asked me to do her photos after seeing some of my wildlife photos and didnt want the hassle of a professional or cost. The weather was fine sunny but not in your face type when you have to sqint. I had a bad time getting shot not sure if some even turned out. everytime i looked through the viewfinder the light was so bright it was washing them with over exposure, i even took the exposure down and changed the light setting. In the end i ended up lifting the lens towards the sky a bit till it darkend down a bit the pressing the button halfway then recomposing.
i will try and put some sample pictures up to show you but any idea from my descripton.

I hope you don't mind me saying but it sounds as if you have not quite grasped the basics of exposure, and sadly your sisters wedding shots may not be as good as hoped..
Put some shots up and there will be plenty of people who will explain better than I can, and I hope some of them can be rescued.
If you can give details of camera settings it will help - did you shoot in auto ?
