Merry xmas everyone.
Tomorrow is my 1st wedding shoot

A few great threads on here already regarding Wedding photography, but what about your shots afterwards?
What tips, if any would you recommended during the photoshop editing stages?

Effects added eg Vignettes, soft focus etc..
Thanks in advance

Don't go too mad with effects, and try and keep a consistency through out the set. Try not too have every other shot black and white. Choose either one or the other, and maybe intersperse them with the odd of the opposite if a shot deserves it!

The Important question is: What do the bride and groom want?

Never (and I mean never) work on the originals, make a duplicate set of images and work on that, then if you make a dogs breakfast of it or accidently delete the lot your still safe.
As soon as you get home from the wedding download the pics and back up to dvd, check it's written properly and stash it away safely, then back up again to a second hard drive, I know it sounds a bit paranod but you can't be too carefull with somebdies wedding pics
If you do fancy a shot in B+W make a duplicate and turn that to B+W always give the couple the choice.
Colour and exposure consistancy are important, try to get them all looking the same, especially the same scenes, if they vary it will show up.

I like to use actions for my B&W's means that they all have the same tonality and it looks good :)

Dude, just because you can does not mean you should.........

I think you use Lightroom, if so, shoot RAW always have the processing in mind when taking the shot, do a first pass, just label as 5* sort them by that and apply the first edit.

I wouldn't bother with PS until the B&G have had the viewing as you may end up wasting time on shots that are not ordered.

Background blur etc should in my opinion be done in camera as much as possible with creative DoF.

Thanks for the advice so far
think you use Lightroom,
Hi Ian, I use CS4.

Some images I've seen on here seem to have a soft/ smooth look to them? Just wondered what editing had been done on those. Or would you leave them as shot, with just the usual photoshop techniques ~ sharpening etc..

Thanks again
