Shooting a wedding tomorrow here in N.Wales and the forecast is for rain all day. It will actually be my first wedding in the wet, so does anyone have any tips for me in terms of getting the best photos of the day? Bridge and groom have opted for a marquee in a field for the venue... I'm thinking umbrellas! My gear is weather sealed (7D, 6D and L glass) so not too worried on that front. Any advice would be most welcome :-)

I read the title as Train and was having some very very weird images flash in to my head.

Make sure your lens hoods don't tend to work loose. And make sure you have a few large clear plastic bags and some rubber bands with you, as well as a baggy waterproof jacket of some sort under which you can keep your gear dry when outside in hissing rain but not actually shooting ;)

A bit of off camera flash perhaps? Seen some great images taken in the rain using that :) Also look for contre jour opportunities - i.e. sunshine AND showers - chance for some decent images there too which could be quite different to the norm :)

Also having a bin bag to cover your gear when not in use is handy ;)

I'll try some flash for definite - not sure about off-camera in the rain though! Hopefully we won't spend TOO much time outside if it's wet. The groom has some ideas for some indoor shots, so we'll see how that works out!

If it is a white marquee, see if you can open up part of it. So you can shoot groups in the dry. Yet have a pleasant outdoor background. A bit of bounce flash should even up the lighting.

White umbrella's and flashes... Some great photo's to be had. :D
I had a wedding in the rain last Friday - my most 'up for it' bride of the year, plans to go for a walk in a muddy field and everything.

Except it rained...:(

Not rain that I could backlight, no huge puddles to create stunning reflections in, just p***ing drizzle all day. Too wet for group pictures outside - not wet enough for any 'wow' shots :(

A clear plastic sandwich bag is all that's required to keep an off camera flash dry.
