Does anyone fancy taking a few pics of my brother-in-law's wedding on the 26th this month in Rotherham. i was going to photograph them but now ive been put on a training course in the states so i'm having to miss it. so if anyone fancies a bit of practise.... let me know.

HELP! SOMEONE .... :'( Pleeeeease!

I'll help you out. You do the photos & I'll go to the States for you!!:D

erm... that was not part of the deal! but thanks for your support anyhow :)

No No No .... but funny you should mention him as it would have been his birthday yesterday!

Yes.... Elvis is ..... DEAD! and has left the building!

i wouldn't mind going as a second shooter only as long as i had no responsibility to get any of the important shots!

I've got no experience of weddings, hence i'd never suggest me doing anything important ;)

Cheers, mattyh, but i'm sure you know how to take good photos? whats the difference? i guess at this short notice, any pics at all are better than none.

any chance of a 70% discount on your bronze package??

Seriously, £300 is cheap for a wedding photographer.

A wedding day is the one time where you don't want to cut corners, but unfortunatley too many people do with their wedding photographer, asking friedns or relatives to do the job (no offence intended). I have only ever shot weddings as a guest, but I've always watched the photographer and given them my own score on how well they seem to do the job. I can do this because I reckon 90% of being a wedding photographer isn't about putting a camera to your eye and pressing the shutter. It's about people, it's about, environment but most of all it's about remembering that this day is the most important day for the couple and it's your job to record it while having as little impact on the day as possible. No mean feat.

If you're stuck, and I mean really stuck, I would consider doing it along with MattyH as a second shooter. But I would really really recommend they find an experienced professional.

I couldn't agree more, but on this occasion my brother in law is stoney broke and was happy for me to take some pics (whether good or bad) regardless. despite me telling him i don't do weddings, had my dad been a bit nearer than Birmingham then i would have asked him (he's been a pro tog for 35 years). I know what it's like doing someones wedding as i used to video them professionally about 10 years ago.

Jase had emailed me regarding this matty - i personally dont think it warrants a second photographer - I am just working out something for Jase - and if I do take it up - then I can let you know.

But, say that you do do it, don't take a 2nd shooter with you.... and you drop your camerra getting out of the car, or the body packs up for some unknown reason?

What happens then?

I'm sure these things do happen and it pays to cover for all eventualities, regardless of whether I go, or anyone else goes it always pays to have a backup plan.

JMO ;)

Wow, £300 for a wedding. I understand your brother in laws financial strain, but to put it in perspective, my wedding photos cost almost £2k.

I have a friend that paid over £1k - £300 is very cheap.

Hi

I gather my prices are a talking point on this thread. Please feel free to see my website, I am not expensive have done this for over 25 years and just enjoy making peoples days. The money is for my equipment and web site costs only. I have plenty of work but would be more than happy to help out as I am free on this date. I also run the bruce lee club in the uk on www.brucelee.org.uk if people are interested.

Thanks
