I tried using Proshow Gold - but the aspect ratio really messed up some of my pics, so make sure you watch the dvd on a TV before giving to the couple.
Some of my crop pics made people tall and thin look short and dumpy coz of the aspect is translated it into for the telly.
I created a Wedding DVD for a friend with videos throughout the day and a photoslide show. I used Pro Show Gold for the slide show and never had any problems with aspect ratio or skewed pictures. The Only nightmare I had was authoring the DVD with a slide show and Videos from three different video cams all with different aspect ratios, the DVD standard doesn't allow this but spreading them out over different VTS's worked a treat.
Never used Pro show Gold (although hear good things about it). I use Nero which is dead simple to use, has lots of "transitions" for between photo's and very easy to add your own music. Only problem with this programme (and not sure if its just Nero) but you have to have all the photo's saved on the computer? Once you've burnt the cd if you delete the photo's from your hard drive you have great difficulty re loading the file (Does that make sense!? )
Proshow is far more powerful than nero for slide shows. The ability to use layers in Gold opens up endless compositional opportunities and the ability to use layer masks too provides for a very consistent look to your shows.
I used 3Mb Panasonic Lumix, (you might have to install their 2 mb viewer to watch)
This was my neice's wedding, and this was my first slideshow with Pro Show Gold.
You can add movement ( I probably overdid it ) anyway 8 minutes is enough.
On the website if you search around there is some proffessional stuff.
Heartily recommend this software.
