Hi Guys.
I trust everyone has had a good Christmas and New Year?

I spent a few days of my break making some changes to my website and generally giving it a bit of a freshen up.
Always good to hear from other people what is good or not so good, where it could be further improved, any bugs or typos that I may have missed etc.

http://www.photographerinessex.com/

  • First up is a general freshen up of images, both on the home page on in the portfolio.
  • The weddings page has had a bit of an update, along with a new brochure/price list.
  • My blog, which used to be hosted by wordpress is now integrated into the site. This has been going for about a month now and has started pushing a lot more traffic through the sie which seems to have already moved me up the rankings a bit more.
  • I have also created a google+ page. Not really sure what to do with it, but assumed it could only help with seo stuff? Feel free to follow/poke/share kitten videos or whatever it is you do. https://plus.google.com/+PhotographerinessexDavidWalkerPhotography/posts
  • And the final spruce up, a new logo which is hopefully a bit more elegant/sophisticated to fit with the wedding genre.

Hi. I think this looks pretty good. For me, the text on the page has a bit too much 'dead' space and I'm wondering why there are so many line break tags?

It's pretty good on my laptop and ipod but I found the best place to view was on my Ipad. As it is the 1st generation Ipad I cannot use a Talk Photography App as it does not cater for IOS 5.1, only 6 and beyond. Pity. Probably will not use as much on the laptop and Ipod is just a little small for viewing pics at their best.

Dead space? On which page?

The excessive breaks are there because I am not too clued up on html, and what I do know is mainly self taught and probably full of bad practice.

The breaks are the on'y way I know to add spaced between paragraphs.

Hi. Home page, reduce the space between heading and text etc. Instead of <br /> tags, use <p> tags and use css to add some margin-bottom to add space under each para. If you want help, let me know.
Your text doesn't resize, have you sized it in pixels? It should be scalable (e.g. sized in ems or %)

I have changed all the double break tags to paragraph tags, but I don't know about text resizing.
I didn't build the site originally, I have just been making small updates to it every now and again.
