Website hosts

I use ipage, only £28 for the year with a domain, unlimited everything and great support

p.s also if you go through my blog, on the right handside there is an ipage advert, I think it knocks you some money off if you go through that way

youll need to build your own site, they dont do templates as far as i know. they only sell you the domain name, web space and email.

I'll third or is it fourth TSO Host

: plus-another-one : ;)

I've got a re-seller package through them and am very happy with their service.

I've used a number of different companies and have been burned by quite a few.

If you see "unlimited"... RUN AWAY!

You get what you pay for. Don't think that you can get a decent package for 4.95 a month. You can't.

I'm currently using SoftLayer (my other server was at The Planet, but SoftLayer has merged The Planet with themselves). They've been excellent and I've been using them for years. However, those are dedicated servers and are costly.

Look for a virtual private server if you can.

I used GoDaddy for a DotNetNuke site a number of years ago and that was smooth. No problems there. However, it's on the cheap end, and you won't get a huge amount of power/flexibility like you will with a dedicated server, but then again, you likely don't need that. So something like GoDaddy would probably be a good bet.

If I were to start a small site with a package, I'd probably look in the $25.00 to $50.00 per month range. You'll get enough storage space and bandwidth in that range.

If you're looking to spend $150 or so, or more, you can get a dedicated server that will be reliable. Check SoftLayer if that's in your budget.

If you're oozing money, check RackSpace. They're about the best out there. But you PAY for it.
