Website For Film Processing & Download

I think the dodochrome site that I spotted in an advert a while back did that, but I've not tried it. The goto site for that in terms of quality would be UK Film Lab. A couple of other sites have it as an added cost option, which struck me as bizarre!

Thanks Chris - I'll check both out tonight.

You'd think it'd be cheaper than the CD/Print option just to provide the download link wouldn't you.

I've been looking for a site that processes film via mail order and provides a download link to the images instead of a CD or prints.

I've found this site but it all looks a bit haphazard and clunky - does anyone know of any slick operations that offer this service?

Cheers.
I used them in the past (not recently, they've rebranded I see but presumably the same business) and was happy with their work. Might be worth a try despite the hippo stuff!

Yeah it's wasn't so much the branding that put me off, although it doesn't inspire confidence, it was more that faffy ordering process. Might still give it a try.

Im just about to send off to the Hippo site, a friend of mine recommended it to me and the results looked good. The download link made getting the results back much quicker.

Yes. They email you a link with your photos and a feedback form with regards to exposure and other such things. :)

Does UK Film Lab offer a download link Gareth? Can't seem to find it on the site.
The details are on their pdf order form:-

When we receive your film we will email an acknowledgement to you, which will include the date by which you can expect your scans to be delivered. Cheers guys - might be asking too much here but any idea in what file format the downloads come? Would like to think they were decent size TIFFs so I could have a proper go at them in photoshop too.

From their FAQ's

Q: Will you scan to my preferences?

A: Yes! You can find out about UKFL-Pro - part of our free-to-all approach to tailoring scans – by reading our post HERE.

We aim to provide you with scans that are very close to the finished article but it is normal for you to make minor final tweaks (for example, we don’t crop, straighten, add sharpening or remove blemishes). If you find that you are regularly making the same type of final edits (warming your images up a little each time, for example) just let us know and we can refine the way we scan and edit your work accordingly. It’s all about building up a great relationship and working together.

JPEG only. The point of using UKFL is that they produce scans that require little to no editing as per your preferences.

That was a disappointment to me... not that I usually (or even often) scan to TIFF, but I'd like the option if I wanted it.
