A few weeks back I created a portfolio based site with another name (North East Photography) which may stand out a little more than my current one (ImagesBySW)

What do people think of the layout? simpleness of this?

I like the clean design and easy navigation. Simple is good. I think it would look better if the right hand column was aligned with edge of the seach box if you know what I mean.

Also think maybe the pano photo at the top might be better if it was the same width as the frame? Perhaps a different pano with more colour (maybe a crop of one of the bridge shots) would make it stand out more. Another idea would to make the top banner a kind of slideshow feature? :shrug:
 
For the front page, if the options on the left were spread across with the introduction text below might balance the layout a little more.

I'd look at putting more of a logo (even if it is just text) instead of the in-browser text in there too.

Nice layout/look and image presentation in the galleries too.

I see whats meant by the search box feature, I will see if I can mess about with the width etc tomorrow and move it over slightly

Also agree with the pic, not sure what other one to put there but I will have a look around aswell and see what I can find

Logo is a sore one, I prefer the writing, not sure what I would replace it with tbh, Will leave it open for now and look at some basic designs however
 
Nice colours and nice idea. I would agree there are some alignment issues, but I also think the rounded corners on the main image don't suit the rest of the page. Maybe try it with squared corners?
 
I see what you mean with the Image now, i will try that again squared and see who it looks
