I know it not meant for in here but could people please let me know if they have had dealings with this company.

My partner is distraught over this

Sorry to hear of such an experience but if she paid by credit card I thought she can easily get the money refunded by the cc company. If by debit card, talk to the bank and see what might be possible???

On the surmise she can get the money back, I surmise she will still have a bad taste in the mouth :(. Take her out for a meal to take her mind off it.:)

Unfortunately it was debit card. 30 min wait to speak to someone from Lloyd’s.

Looked at the site and noted that they were bought by an almost identical type company. That company are listed in companies house with one active director located in Hong Kong!

Oh dear, buying from grey market company based abroad with a debit card ~ hope Lloyds have a solution for you???

On brief inspection they seemed legit. The secure padlock by the pay.

Guess it teaches us not to be hasty. Wasn’t even the cheapest either. I’d question it more if it was crazy cheap.

For future reference, always check out a supplier's return/refund policy, because it's a good guide as to whether they intend to play by the rules. UK law says that for internet sales you have a right to inspect the goods to establish whether they are suitable for your intended purpose, as you would be able to in a shop, and to return them unused within 14 days for a full refund, no questions asked. Decent suppliers comply with that. Venture Direct don't.

AFAIK the secure padlock 'function' only identifies that payments are handled securely.........i.e. nothing to do with the bone fides of how any company will provide & service your orders!

Good point......though 'scammers and miscreants' might make such a UK orientated declaration with no intention of actually complying!

Sorry to hear you have had this trouble, hope it all works out.
