Im looking at getting some new glasses and would like some with transitions lenses. does anyone have these and do they change when your sitting at a computer for a long time?

thanks

Worn them for years and the screen illumunation has no effect on them whatsoever.

thanks, i had a google but just wanted to check with other photographers to make sure i wouldnt get a problem with colours ect.

Don't think so, and if they do I have never noticed would have thought it was the wrong sort of light to change them. You will also find that you might still need sunglasses for the car as most modern windows filter out the UV (?) light that makes the change

Mine still work in my car, also my Daughters, next door's and 2 mates, all different makes, although I can't vouch for every car make or model!

Transition lenses only work in uv light. Remember most windows are not 100% UV blocking. This is not an issue generally but becomes a problem if you are sat facing a window directly. However I've never had any issue with this as you shouldn't have your screen sat in front of window.
In terms of cars - most windscreens made after 2002/2003 have UV blocking on them so again your lenses won't change colour.
You can now get transitions extraactive lenses, which go 50% dark behind a UV blocking windscreen, however they don't go completely clear indoors like a normal transitions lens

I ordered them with the transitions, it looks like they shouldn't be a problem for general use and i might get some sunglasses for driving if we ever see a summer again.
