I am happy with creating a watermark, and then saving as a brush for future application, but have lost "my idiots guide" for adjusting the outer glow to give a white outline around black text.
Can anyone help?

You need to apply the brush to a new layer (above your image) then use layer styles (FX on the layers palette) to add outer glow or drop shadow etc.

Thanks for the advice Wayne. I find that applying the watermarks as a brush best suits my mothod of working, and did have a watermark brush with the outer glow. However, I appear to have lost this and whilst I can create another brush I am having difficulty putting the outer glow in. Any help more than appreciated.Thanks.

The brush applies the colours selected on the color boxes (on the left toolbar) if they are both the same colour or similar you may loose the glow effect depending on the brush. Have you tried resetting the default colours (shortcut D)?

Thanks again Wayne, but struggling a bit. How do I reset the default colours? I have also tried ensuring that there is a big difference between foreground and background colours (black and white) but still no difference. Maybe I am being too ambitious!
