just wondered if anyone has a clue to what's happening with my images. i have 2 spots (look like water marks) on all my photos, cleaned all my lenses, cleaned my mirror on my camera, thought i'd solved the problem but they are still there......i have a Nikon D300s body........i'm a newbie......to photography!

thanks

Dave

Sounds like you've got marks on your sensor.

Get a blower and give your sensor a good blow!

Maplins are doing a great one at the mo for £3.99 much better than a rocket blower

you can gte kits to clean your sensor yourself but personaly i pay 25 quid to ahve mine cleaned.. usualy once a yr

clean your monitor :naughty:

try the self cleaning mode on the d300s its really good.......

I have had my D300 nearly 3 years, and have yet to wet clean the sensor, I just use the cleaning mode now and then

How do you mean use the cleaning mode? IIRC the cleaning mode just locks up the mirror on the camera in preparation for doing a blower/wet clean rather than cleaning anything itself?

It has an ultrasonic cleaning mode that vibrates the sensor, you are thinking of mirror lock up for cleaning ... both are together in the setup menu

Aha! Cool.

Prefer Canon - it does it for you each time you switch on and off :D

So does the Nikon, you have the option to clean on each power up

I do not have this set on mine, just running it every couple of months, when and if I remember :D

Thats pretty cool it is in the menu too! Pah! Learn something every day around these parts! Cheers Martyn - will pass that on to the dark side of the family :D
