Giveaway of the day are offering a free watermarking program for today Sat 9th Oct www . giveawayoftheday . com Also does batch watermarking and convert image formats in bulk.

It looks like it could be useful but I haven seen it so cant comment. Thought it might be useful to someone.

I saved the link so I was going to try it if I get time today. If anyone's used it and thinks it's pants though it will save me the bother :)

i was going to install intill my adware blocker piped up at me and said it wants to change the registry of a critical funtion of windows............suss or a false positive..

still not taking the chance since its free...........
 
Interestingly the file downloaded from their site is totally different (and smaller) to the one from giveaway I smell a rodent!
 
oh yes....................the one from there main site dosnt want to change the reg at all


SO AVOID THIS DOWNLOAD AT ALL COST................

if you have downloaded from the giveaway site you have a nasty on your comp..avoid any online banking etc..untill you find what it is

its a rootkit of some sorts me thinks

Script Writer will do all that with it's batch processing function for either Mac or PC without touching the registry and more besides ;)
 
I didn't install the original downloaded one, I didn't like the look of it at all, it's got a normail file (key) icon for a start, not a proper installer. That said I'm not impressed by the proper one, ok it did have a proper installer but it's very basic to say the least, I'll go back to PS I think.

run anti virus and if you havnt got it download and run adware(free) and spybot(free) also malbytes is also worth having and go from there...

Thanks Paul. I posted this in good faith but as I said, I hadnt tried it. I hope it hasnt caused any bad effects to anyone who has downloaded. The site looked genuine, but then you cant always tell.
 
not your fault trev...the site may be ok but someone has put forward a genuine product and added a virus...

this happens...

without knowing what it is, we cannot tell how it will affect the comp/you

I Installed it from the link, Ran OK,

Checked with Antivirus, Adware and Malbytes, nothing showing from any of them!
 
dont panic just yet its a hacked copy of the product so thats proberly why the reg change.

its got a code for it built into the download..still run anti virus etc though just to be sure

did you do a full sytem scan?? as if it has changed the reg in a bad way it wont show if you just scanned the file
 
Seems fine to me too...

Works OK, but doesn't do anything that FastStone Resizer doesn't do better.
