I'm planning a studio shoot and am looking for advice on the best way to achieve the appearance of water droplets on the model's skin.

I have tried with water, but I found it just evaporates off the skin too fast. Even wet hair dries pretty quickly. It's also cold for the model if you keep having to re-apply water.

Baby oil applied as a spray seems frequently suggested. Does it need to be mixed with water and in what proportions? I have also read glycerine suggested.

Also for a wet hair look would some sort of gel or oil work? If so which type?

You apply the baby oil to the skin first and then spray with water.
Try it on the back of your hand.

If no-one has any ideas for wet look hair, try a hair dressing or theatrical makeup forum.
I would imagine there are products out there but probably oil would last longer than water.
There's just the problem of removing it afterwards...

not sure about the skin, but hair wise, if you use a wax/gum in the hair then add/style with water it will retain a wet look all day or until you mess with it again.

this will give you a wet look, not strait from the shower type thing if thats what you need, the downside with long hair it will also give a greasy look.

Thanks for the baby oil tip I will give that a try. Have you used this technique?

Thanks for that The model I'm working with has longer than shoulder length hair, but could be worth looking into.

How about adding glycerin to the water?

If you make the water a sugar mix it will hold, baby oil will give you a lot of reflection which might be unwanted.

As said baby oil on skin first, but will give a shine, glycerin mixed in to the water works well :) not sure on the hair front.
