As I know nothing I just thought I'd ask what the experts think before buying :D

I want some new straps but I want fabric of some sort rather than metal. I've bought some watches which came with metal straps but I had those taken off and cheap and cheerful leather effect ones fitted but they soon start to deteriorate so I'd like to replace them with better quality ones. Someone suggested an orange silicone and I can see the appeal so something like that is an option together with something more traditional.

Any pointers, recommendations or pictures or links to tempt me together with clues about how much these things cost will be appreciated :D

I'd recommend you taking a look at Nick Mankey Designs, he makes some great looking functional straps of which I have a couple.

Only downside is delivery times are a little on the long side but they're very much worth the wait.

The straptailor.com does some nice single pass nato style adjustable nylon straps.
Watchgecko do some reasonable nato style and elastics nylon straps which are really comfy.
Or if you’re feeling extravagant, there’s erikasoriginals.com

I wear all of my watches on NATO type straps nowadays.
I even have my Rolex GMT Master on a nice one ATM due to the warm weather.

Thanks all. Plenty to look at there :D

I've decided to get new straps for all my Chinese watches and my Sekonda. My Swiss watches will stay on their metal ones as after all these years it seems wrong to take them off :D

My next decision will be to stick with a black or brown traditional look or get something different for a couple of them.

Surgical steel, shark mesh bracelet straps. Very comfortable, breathe well and if you pay for a good one, will last the life of the watch.

As above, I have Swiss watches with metal bracelets but I much prefer the leather/fabric of some sort types and those will be what I get. I haven't had the chance to see any in town recently but the next time I'm there I will get a watch or two restrapped until they're all done.

I've used these folks and the quality of all the bits that I have bought and made up has been superb. I have built up some of their kits in the past (before my hands got shakey and my eyes were OK!)
Not the cheapest but I'm still wearing everything that I have built!

Nice, but they only seem to do metal bracelets.

Congratulations on the builds though. Maybe they're worth a thread with story and pictures? I'm sure that'd be interesting.
