Watch Noddy Holders Pension Fund Escalate before your eyes...

At least, since the writers get the majority of the royalties from airplay repeats, it's not CR getting a shed load for Mistletoe and Wine (although clearly the writers should be whacked too).

I see that Noddy is top of the pile,
no surprise there :D

Probably a close run thing if they'd have included Woody's opus...

Whilst our boffins are super clever and know their pop, this is still our opinion and our own calculation based on an algorithm that we have devised. Whilst we think it’s pretty accurate there’s a significant chance that it’s completely wrong!

Is that what they call a 'get-out clause'?

Where does the money come from? I know shops/businesses pay a flat PRS fee but that applies to all music.

I bought the Slade single when it came out in 1973 or whenever so I've done my bit ;)

I'm pretty sure the radio stations pay a fee every time they play a record,
certainly the BBC ones and I guess the ccommercialones too.
Wasn't that the issue, or one of them with Radio Caroline?

Funnily enough I watched a TOTP2 compilation of 'I wish it could be Christmas' only last night. Not one of my favourites I must say, but then I was never that keen on Roy Wood who I always felt seemed a bit 'weird'!

I suspect the figures in the 'Christmas Song Royalty Calculator' probably aren't that accurate. I read the piece in the Telegraph where Roy Wood was indeed claiming that his pension fund in the form of I.W.I.W.B.C.E. has been severely damaged by modern technology.

The truth is probably nearer Mr Wood's estimate than the 'Calculator'.

Understatement if the century. It's just a poorly designed random number generator. I mean, what are the odds that three of the nine songs they feature would have earned exactly the same royalties to within +/- £100 out of half a million? No way.

I'm sure Roy Wood was complaining just last week about how little he gets these days due to illegal downloads

or the fact that people have had the same xmas CDs for years now. if you have to torrent an xmas song your life is at an all time low
