waste ink

im using a epson r800 printer and just wondered what happens once the waste ink tank is full.
ie can you empty it yourself or is it a job for epson.
ive seen external ink tanks advertised just wondered if anyone had used these and if they are anygood.

Clive - go to www.dpreview.com Forums>Printers and Printing and also ask the question there......or do a search.
There has been a few questions recently on dpreview regarding waste ink tanks and how to fit them...together with resetting the printer after it comes up error due to the ink sponges becoming saturated
