City Link aint got a good rep - generally ok if you are in when they deliver...but if you aint then good luck! :(

im at work when they deliver :(
theres a depot down the road from me
hopefully i should be ok

I've had four orders from WE over the past couple of months and they've invariably been really quick.

Now Karlu are a different matter... Placed three orders with them over recent months and each time it's taken minimum of one week and maximum four weeks! They're cheap though so I only order from them if it's something I don't need quickly.

Flashy

CityLink are a PITA IMO -I had a card through the door when I was at work (I expected this). I then went throught the automated phone line to tell them I would collect the next day from the local depot. When i went to the depot, I waited about 20 odd mins for the moron behind the counter to tell me it was 'out for delivery' :bang: :bang:

When I got home later the guy had left it with next door who kindly signed for the item (a lens) - The fact that they were in all day the day before annoyed me that the CL driver didn't try them then...

:cuckoo:

If you mean you will be able to pick it up, then i doupt if they will allow that all to do with insurance on premises etc, but you could get it delivered at your work place.

As I said, there is no problem in picking things up from Citylink after they have tried to deliver. I you wanted to pick up from the depot before they try to deliver, then it would be a no as they generally load the goods onto the van in the wee hours of the morning.

thanks you lot :)

hopefully should be ok, depot near me so i shall be refreshing the city link consignment page every 2 secs at work prob :)

Markyh: yeah, ordered it today, comes tomoro (hopefully) OMG :)

Expect a thread tomoro evening with pictures...

yeah, me and my friend are having a picnic in the New forest next thurs, and im going to point the camera at her a few times :D

Oh, and got a wedding next week too!!

City Link and Business Post both suck. Between the two I have had several times where I was supposed to have not been at home and have been carded but no card left and I was in! Where I used to live I even had times where they were supposed to call and no one home, but the place had a full-time concierge to accept parcels.

I think if they can't find a place easy, if it's a bit off the route for other deliveries or if they are running late then they just don't bother. Business Post web site currently tells me they have tried to deliver my latest parcel and both times they've apparently carded me - well where are the cards? RMSD is best overall as if you ain't in you just go to the web site and arrange a new delivery date. At least it works well here but I have the same two posties. In places where they have high staff turnover it might be different.
