Planning to buy a 40D from WE. They are doing the body along with a sandisk extreme III for £749.

I was told they don't do UK stock but imports:shake:

Is that true? Anyone having good bad experience with them so far?

Went to Jessops on Monday where they agreed to do the above deal with price matching and this afternoon refuse to do it

They do UK stock Zee, but their stock levels have been worse than shoddy lately.

However, if you're prepared to wait then you'll be pleased with their service - i would counsel you to call them to ensure they have stock before making an order!

Calumet are actually getting my vote at the moment.

always place your order over the phone with WE - waiting a day or more to get told that the item isnt in stock is annoying to say the least

Ive just ordered a few bits and bobs online too, also out of stock :( Over a week ago too.

I got my 30D (uk stock) from WE, as above I ordered over the phone and found them to be most helpful and delivery was very fast. I can't speak for the 40D which may be in such short supply that they have to get stock from abroad.

Didn't make them hurry on low stock for mk3's steep - as they trickle in, they trcikle out so i'm happy with the provenance, just nor their stock management on peripherals

Believe or not Dixons are currently the cheapest for a 40D last I checked and will price match web prices too, they might have stock.

There price online is £5 cheaper than WE, but it says sold out :(

To be honest, if the 40D is in short supply at the moment, I'd wait until it isn't.
All mainstream retailers, online or high street based, take advantage of high demand stock situations like this.
I'm aware that Canon have introduced another cash back offer but it raises suspicion when all your hearing is 40D 'sold out'.

I've had a few good experiences with Warehouse Extortion but recently I'm striking them off the usable supplier list.

I wanted to buy a EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS USM, WE's price was quite steep but I trusted them, the clincher was the fact they do not supply a tripod collar with their stock and wanted a further £89.99 to supply it! Complete robbery.

I use suppliers in Germany like Photo and More (site available in English), AC Photo and in the future One Stop Digital and Mr Kerso when he arranges his over sea's shipping.

Anyway, best of luck finding one, if you don't mind doing bank transfers then I recommend giving suppliers in Germany a chance. If you can't find the details P.M me.

Best Regards

Tomas

After searching around and finding most suppliers within a few £ of each other, I purchased my Canon 400D, battery grip and 430ex last week from Warehouse Express with no problems at all. Very pleased with purchase, tracking order, delivery and goods well wrapped.

Warehouse Express

I've ordered plenty of stuff from Warehouse Express and have been very happy with their service and friendly, knowledgeable staff not mention the great prices.
