Im looking at buying a small camera like a sony nex 5n or something in that sort of range , just something I can have with me all the time.

I currently shoot with Canon primes or L series glass:cool: and a 5d mkii, will I really be disapointed or can someone offer up some advice on a small good camera.

Thanks guys.

Just like with your Canon much IQ will depend upon the lens and the beauty of CSC is that you can fit almost anything to them. Some of the system lenses aren't too shabby at all and how about some Zeiss or Leica lenses or anything else that takes your fancy?

I'm pretty sure that in all but the worst light you'll be happy with the actual IQ of CSC.

I've just gone with a Sony NEX-5N (18-55mm and 16mm lens kit) for exactly this purpose. I've not got it yet, but on paper / reviews it seems comparable to the Canon 5D mk.II for low light performance. Might be something worth considering. The Olympus / Panasonic MFT (Micro Four Thirds) is probably worth a look too. I've not looked at their models though.

Just sold my Nikon D300 and 6 Nikon lenses , got a Sony Nex 5N and twin lens pack to replace it , DSLR to heavy to bulky for mountain trails so I decided on the Sony , if I was making money selling photos then maybe I would have kept Nikon kit .

I have just bought a NEX C3 and it is very impressive indeed. The 5n is going to be a little better and i can highly reccomend one!!

Also take a look at the Panasonic GH2, G3 or even GX1. The sensors aren't as clean as the NEX at higher ISO - above 1600, but much better selection of shaper, smaller lenses, and I find the user interface a bit more enthusiast orientated.
